A New Year’s resolution

Do you ever feel like you have to force yourself outside of your comfort zone? My comfort zone is to stay home, knit everyone else’s patterns with the suggested yarn, and keep my knits on a shelf so I don’t spill something on one.

Knitting everyone else’s patterns has taught me so much. Now its time to put that knowledge to use and knit some of my own.

Well, watch out 2022! I’m going to get social (virtually?), design more of my own patterns, try out different dyers, fibers, and weights, and I’m going to WEAR ALL THE KNITS!

To start, I have social anxiety. I’m not sure I’m an introvert – I prefer to stay home and knit but I also love my friends – although I’m pretty sure I would never be called an extrovert either. 2020 enabled me to close myself off so this past year, putting myself out there with my knitting and notions has been challenging and anxiety-inducing but so so so fun and really exciting. My New Year’s resolution is to double down and work on my knitting community relationships. I want to collaborate with like-minded makers/knitters and build stronger bonds with those I have started to get to know.

So don’t be surprised if I message you or comment on more photos, thats just me working on my resolution. And feel free to message me or comment on a photo if you are also trying to make more fiber friends, we can ease into the waters of social interaction together 🙂
